¿Qué es katlalog?

a direct descendent of the katlabote.

i've been 'publishing' a family newsletter since i was 8 (or something). during my teenage years it was often a travel report, for a while it regularly appeared once a year at christmas. after that i would occasionally surprise my family with a new edition one christmas or the other.

after i finally managed to get my whole family online, the kaltabote moved to email and quickly became a weekly endeavour. i say endeavour because that's what it sometimes is. my usual time for writing the weekly katlabote is 2 am on a friday night after having worked until midnight and really wanting to get a couple of hours of game play in before i fall asleep on my keyboard.

anyway, the katlabote is private and in german anyway. 'bote' means messenger, katla is the name of an icelandic witch and volcano (don't ask).

i started what is now known as a weblog in 1997. it was philosophically called 'I sometimes wonder...' but it was never online. i was too scared then. but since then thousands have stupidly exposed themselves to the public, so it's not so scary anymore.

so here we are, katlalog.

and yes, i know i construct strange sentences. i'm bilingual and my brain currently won't allow enough clockcycles for keeping the two apart.

and no, i don't have a shift key on my keyboard (wait. come back...)
...although - in the spirit of usability - i'm thinking of getting one.

oh, and... i hate the word 'blog'.
